I woke up in a cold sweat

Breathing heavily

Vaguely recalling my nightmare

I stood up from my bed and made my way to the kitchen for a glass of water

Outside the window, I noticed a faint glow in the night sky

It seemed unusual, unnatural

Like a moth to a flame, I was drawn to it, feeling as though I had no choice but to investigate

I stepped outside and tried to get closer

The light seemed to move away from me at the same pace at which I approached it

Yet I continued to pursue this faint glow, unconcerned that I was tired, cold, and barefoot

After some time, I was standing directly beneath the mysterious light

My eyes were fixated on it

Suddenly, I heard a sound from above me that I can't describe

The sky itself appeared to split open, and I became surrounded in a blinding, bright blue

I fell to my knees, overwhelmed

I felt my body leave the ground
