For us to stave off ego and ensure our species thrives

If we would look upon our floating globe against the backdrop of the enveloping dark

We are all that we have, so let's not dwell on when it ends

And when inquiry poses more questions than initially is able to resolve

Take solace in the fact that science provides a diminishing size to the god of the gaps
