Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship king Nebuchadnezzar's gods or worship the gold statue he had made

The king told them that if they refused, they would be thrown into the blazing furnace

He warned them that no god would rescue them from his power

The three told Nebuchadnezzar that the God whom they served was able to save them from his power

They told him clearly that even if their God didn't save them, they would never serve the gods of the king or worship the golden statue he built

Nebuchadnezzar became furious with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego He commanded that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. Then he ordered some of the strongest men of his army to bind the three and throw them into the blazing furnace

They were thrown into the furnace, fully dressed

Because the king, was so angry he demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, that the flames killed the soldiers as they threw the three men in. As the king watched he jumped in amazement when he saw four men in the fire

The four men were unbound and walking around in the fire unharmed. The fourth looked like a god. The three men thrown in were pulled out of the fire and only their chains had burned off

I only fear God

If I'm not burned and don't smell smoke

what can you do to me now

I only fear God

Let the flames rise, only fear the Living God
