How the heathen rage and sneer so

And let so much evil

The peoples take useful counsel

Which God would not have

The kings of the earth strengthen themselves

And the princes are gathered

Against Christ thy Son and thee

God forbid it be so

Have mercy on us, Lord

Let us break their bonds asunder

And cast away their yoke

He that dwelleth in the throne of heaven

Shall it be of them that they reproach

And despise them so

And speak to them with anger

And in their cruelty with fear strike

For they were not ready

And beg of him for mercy

God has made his Son king

For us Christians all

And from him shall we take our reward

There is a hand upon him so that he may speak

I will give you/ if you will from me

Gentiles to inherit

And the world to everlasting possession

No one shall be able to stand against you

You shall break them in pieces

And tread them all under your feet

As you would not obey

As the judgment of the world should be established

That in God honor and praise

So that few may be in peace and joy

Serve your Lord God with fear

And rejoice with danger

Accept God's true Word with discipline

So that in the way you may beware

When his wrath is revealed

Then all will suffer

Who have not turned from him

But have trusted in him

God has given us all joy
