Long ago, a woman was like a child

Her friend was a carpenter, meek and mild

But the president sought to end their days

Fearing the child would take his power away

So they fled to a distant land

Until the president's reign was banned

The baby was born, their hope and cheer

In a stable with animals, the child lay

The priests despised him for speaking true

They turned the people against him too

So the president found it easy to decree

Though good priests exist, the church's core

Is often hypocritical, money their aim

Supported by exploiters, oligarchs, and shame

Yet the message of peace and love remains

A beacon for many through life's pains.
