Lyrics
In a mist to the fair I was walking one day
An enveloping haze so unsure of my way
When a voice from the midst whispered reasons to stray
Whispered reasons so sure I responded okay
And it took me to a place where nothing was real
Where sea wraiths and spirits were guiding the wheel
Where to fly with a circle of fire made in steel
Was to fly to where no-one could fathom how I feel
So I burst from a star that was made just for that
And I soared with a bird and we never came back
And the lava that flowed was all silver and black
As it flung out applause to the good ship The Black Jack
With a word we could muster a herd
Of space-living creatures with songs never heard
We'd stride through the cosmos with sabre and shield
While dazzled in blue with our magnetic field
And it's on ever on towards no-one knows where
Through a starburst of colours that flame in our hair
In a swirl of caprice that can stifle a care
Like the swirl of the mist disappearing at the fair
