    15 inches in the valley

    The National Weather Service

    Said the super storm of 1993

    Marked the deadliest and most costly

    Weather event of the 20th century


    Surrounding areas like the Great Smoky Mountains

    Saw up to five feet of snow

    That storm stranded hikers

    It knocked out Power for days

    The National Guard rescued

    More than 200 hikers in the Smokies

    Mount Le Conte buried under 60 inches of snow

    And in total

    More than 270 people died

    In that storm system

    Almost 10 million people lost power
