The moon shining bright

Peeks out behind the clouds

The forest is blanketed

Beneath it's winter shroud

There's movement in the trees

The wind begins to howl

The Ranger is now traveling

He drives a darkened road

He makes a turn into the woods

To reach his mountain home

The driveway is long and curved

A night-time forest drive

His headlights fall across the house

He's in for a surprise

Trash is strewn about the yard

The cans are on their sides

Something has made quite a mess

And tried to get inside

Paper blows across the snow

As his truck is parked

He opens up the vehicle door

And steps into the dark

He walks into the headlights

Curses beneath his breath

Stops and shakes his head

"What a fucking mess…"

Suddenly he sees it

His heart leaps from his chest

He flees into the trees

Gasping out of breath

He falls into the gully

And rolls onto his side

Digs his fingers in the snow

To crawl up the other side

In the yard headlights flicker

As the beast passes the truck

He slides back into the pit

The Ranger now is stuck

The beast pushes through the snow

Jagged claws fingers wide

A mouth full of pointed teeth

Lie beneath those yellow eyes

The claws enter flesh

The Ranger starts to scream

The monster rips away

The flesh begins to bleed

Teeth lock onto the throat

The screams are snuffed away

And as the beast tears it out

A mist of blood is sprayed

Sprayed

As sunlight starts to rise

The carnage has been covered

Beneath a sheet of snow

The attack has become smothered

Just off in the gully

An arm juts from the snow
