Lyrics
Drifting Melodies
Lifeline, So far
Floating Endlessly
Contemplating What we are
Drifting Melodies
I find, So far
Floating Endlessly
Contemplating What we are
Call down through
Pressure building up
Can you lift me up
While I self destruct
Days, weeks, years
Sinking, can't you see
Thinking, aimlessly
I'm not a part of me.
So Long as There is Quiet
All things having been seen by G-d dissipate
No love lost with lovers arm in arm
Gazing into the dust or anything
Making from nothing something, ill-defined even by G-d themselves
Having seen all, even G-d is found puzzled by the nuance of nothing - nothing!
And loved with ruined minds and even curioser souls peruse barren earth for specks of passed-over history
Words unused, people unable to be photographed, photographs for which there are no words
Words for which there are rarely feelings
Feelings for which there are never words at all.
And G-d, having passed over the earth at least 34,000,000 times
Looks and gazes and waits too, and asks for the first time: "why?"
Lovers give answer for which there is no words
Words for which there is no G-d
G-d for which there is nothing so inconceivable as the beauty of nothing.
Lovers laugh then begin to weep for the lack of celestial wonder.
The great megalomaniac in the sky never stood a chance.
The chance to see nothing as anything at all
Or, even more so, as everything it is to those wandering
To road crews and academics.
To punks and hippies.
To those with worldviews and those without
And the amalgam of their favorite-people and least favorite-people.
Jealous, G-d reaches for the blood of hate contained in small apocalypse
The wonder of heartbreak,
The delight of melancholy,
Or maybe scents and sights too small for G-d to see
And for which there are rarely words.
There's no words
Call down through
Pressure building up
Can you lift me up
While I self destruct
Days, weeks, years
Sinking, can't you see
Thinking, aimlessly
I'm not a part of me.
