Lyrics
Mankind prefers to see themselves magnificent
The peak of all life, while the truth is often dissonant
Humanity fears truth, favoring their ignorance
Until at last, they see mankind is insignificant
The whispers are frightening, the screams are louder
Your sanity breaks as you fall from power
The paintings, the patterns, they all grip and grasp me
They show me the key to be finally free
As the sky turned scarlet, I see something amiss
The swirls in the water, the texture of the bridge
As I looked all around me, on the old crossway
I saw the truth, blinding me, like glares of neon rays
The brushes, the strokes
I paint until I choke
The whispers surround me
They cut through my throat
I don't know what it means, but I now feel free
Now knowing what has been, what is, and will be
Mixing the colors, weaving the patterns
Exposing the lunatic truth that I had learned
Am I going crazy, nothing is familiar
All faces are blank, now just masks on a figure
Seeing dark reflections of an alternate world
Reality breaks as my mind unfurls
Every brush, every stroke, every splotch of ink
Shows another lie that was left unturned
The whispers are frightening, the screams are louder
Your sanity breaks as you fall from power
The paintings, the patterns, they all grip and grasp me
They show me the key to be finally free
What will you do, when your world breaks at the seams
All you can do, is try not to scream!
Creators often try to express something greater in their work
But sometimes, these creators find what they made to be nothing but true
I wake up from the nightmare, but it all comes back
Never sleeping, losing all the sanity I lack
Life is broken, now replaced with that horrid painting
Little semblance of what used to be now remaining
I hear something calling my name
I feel myself going insane
I can barely hold in the pain
I can't let what I saw die in vain
Give in to the voices, drown out the lies
Give in, rejoice as the truth shall arise
Give in, it destroys us and all we surmise
Hear, as the bell rings to your final day
Hear all the screams as the world decays
Hear, we rejoice in the silence and pray
In the strokes of pigment, a message could be found
Comprised of a mind deteriorated and unsound
What's unknown is best left forgotten
Lest you might turn your mind rotten to the core
The call of the voices drive you
You'll find out their truths are but lies
You keep going, following through
Yet all that I ask is why
The whispers are frightening, the screams are louder
Your sanity breaks as you fall from power
The paintings, the patterns, they all grip and grasp me
They show me the key to be finally free
What will you do, when your world breaks at the seams
All you can do, is try not to scream
The day darkens, the mind unravels at the seams
The paintings, they beckon with the sounds of screams
Driving yourself to all these extremes
Just to get the truth out!
The whispers are frightening, the screams are louder
What can I do but scream
Truly a tragic ending to this tale.
A painter forcing himself to the bone, inspired by incomprehensible truth, dead by his canvas.
Truly a moment of tragic irony.
