The angel Gabriel was sent to Mary

"Hail, thou that art highly favored," said he

"The Lord is with you, do not be afraid,…"

God now will fulfill the promise he made

The Savior, long foretold by prophets of old

Would come to earth, the story the angel told

Though a virgin engaged to marry Joseph

Mary would become the mother of Jesus

Mary asked Gabriel how could this happen

She had never even laid with a man

Though it was strange she readily agreed

Should we be called, may we follow her lead

"Be it unto me, according to thy word"

She embraced the call to be used of God

Becoming the vessel for the Savior's birth

A miracle that would change the universe

"Be it unto me," let us take it to heart

To advance God's kingdom, all doing our part
