This Strange Christmas Thing Lyrics

There is a giant fir-tree in my house dressed with baubles

And out on my street, there is this group that warbles

They all sing about so many pretty things on our Earth

Songs about peace and love, I think there is much worth

In this Christmas thing I haven't quite been able to follow

But that is no reason for me to just sit about and wallow

I will dress my dreary little house in all kinds of colour

Yes, this Christmas time has made my heart go and flutter

So apparently it is time to say Merry Christmas to you

I will admit this whole thing to me is so very much new

But everyone seems to be so very happy and very jolly

So, in my house I will now put up a whole bunch of holly

I see lights everywhere and a jolly fat man dressed in red

On Christmas Eve he will fly across the globe on a sled

I'm not sure how he is supposed to succeed in a single night

But I do hope that all his reindeers will be fine and have might

Under the tree in my house, I have placed colourful boxes

Filled with all kinds of things for friends and my kin of foxes

And as my final little touch of this Christmas holiday thing

A feast with all kinds of foods and many sweets I will bring
