My kids want to see a rainbow,

My kids are lurking by the stars,

Tell them one day that we'll see them,

But the specs and strips of colour wander far.

Couldn't wait to lay there in the knoll,

All those days of praying took their toll,

Suddenly this pit inside my stomach,

Has turned itself into a gaping hole,

Losing grip on sanity from things I left behind.

My kids want to see a rainbow,

Told them the wonders of the stars,

Want them to see what I had pondered,

And at their age, they will feel that perfect spark,

Told you I worry for myself,

Who will be showing them instead?
