Why do the nations rage in vain

And kings conspire in proud disdain?

The rulers speak with voices bold

"Let us break free from ancient hold"

Their cords we cast their yoke despise

And darkness veils their blinded eyes

But He that sits on Heaven's throne

Shall laugh in scorn His wrath be known

The Lord will speak with burning fire

In judgment fierce His voice is dire

"I have set My King upon Zion's hill

The holy mount by sovereign will

Thou art My Son this day He proclaimed

Ask of Me and nations shall be named

With iron rod Thou shalt break the clay

The pride of kings shall fall away"

Be wise O kings and rulers heed

Serve the Lord let fear proceed

With trembling hearts His mercy seek

Bow low before the mighty meek

Kiss the Son lest anger rise

And perish lost beneath His skies

His wrath is kindled but for a breath

Blessed are those who trust 'til death

The refuge found beneath His wings

Awaits the hearts of humbled kings

O Lord Thy word is firm and sure

Thy reign is just Thy throne secure

Though men may rise their days are few

Thy kingdom stands forever true

Hallelujah the King shall reign

In righteousness through joy and pain

And walk by grace at His command
