Job 28 Lyrics
- Genre:Gospel

Lyrics
Surely there is a mine for silver,
And a place where gold is refined.
Iron is taken from the earth,
And copper smelted from its find.
Man puts an end to the darkness,
He probes deep to make it bright,
Far from human habitation,
He searches in the darkest night.
But where can wisdom be found?
And where does understanding dwell?
Where does understanding dwell?
But where can wisdom be found?
It is hidden from the eyes of all.
Where does understanding dwell?
God alone understands its call.
The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
To turn from evil is understanding.
He tunnels through the rock and earth,
His eyes see all that's treasured deep.
He damns up streams to stop their flow,
To bring the hidden out from sleep.
But where is wisdom in this world?
Where does understanding hide?
It can't be found by any man,
Nor bought by wealth, nor sold by pride.
It can't be bought with finest gold,
Nor valued with the silver's weight.
Its price exceeds the rarest pearls,
And wealth from Ophir's highest gate.
The deep sea cries, 'It's not with me,
The rivers shout, Not mine to sell.
No onyx, sapphire, or gem you find,
Can pay the price of wisdom well.
God alone knows wisdom's path,
He sees its place beneath the skies.
He looked to earth, set weight to wind,
Measured waters with His eyes.
When He decreed the rain to fall,
And marked the thunder's blazing track,
He declared to man, 'Fear the Lord!'
That's where wisdom's found, no turning back.
He looked and He appraised it,
He established wisdom's way.
And to man, He said,
The fear of the Lord is wisdom today.
But where can wisdom be found?
It is hidden from the eyes of all.
Where does understanding dwell?
God alone understands its call.
The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
To turn from evil is understanding.
