I came upon ole Absolom when the Tennessee sun was high

His name was on an old forgotten cemetery sign

With the woods grown up behind it and tall Honeysuckle brush

I only walked on by it and

but I wondered who he was

One day in late October when the leaves began to fall

I Saw a lone stone obelisk rising up above it all
