I am the drum that speaks

For the African heritage

And the ant

That leads the jungle of lions

To hail true words

Zumah the Poet

I know I am strong

Throughout my life, I have been on a journey

To discover who I am and who I might be

Always searching, day after day

So desperate just to recognize myself

I've embraced many moments of utter fulfillment

And moments I couldn't go on

But for the sake of my tomorrow

I've got to be strong

I know I am strong

Yet the people I call my own seemed so lost

That I am scared I might be on my own

But then someone would eventually

Reach out to me and help

Reminding me I am not alone

I have always wished to be happy

And to know exactly what it means to feel peace

And was thinking if I finally felt so sure of myself

The pains, agony and the struggles would end

But what I have learned is that

This journey is endless, yes
