Lyrics
Bittersweet Symphony, this is it for me
Can't take it for granted cause this was meant for me
Came from the Greatest, see what He did for me
Made in the image so I could picture me
Never talk a lot, just say what needs the verbiage
Press play on the song and you can hear the sermon
It's more than just a vibe, you gotta use discernment
Cause Lucifer made music, now they tuned to serpents
Verses go hard, but what we talking bout?
Christians make music and we just tune it out
I know it's for a reason, some don't have the sound
So this right here's the balance, so just hear me out
GOD is stirring hunger in a generation
That wants the real thing, we don't want the fake
Creative like Cole Bennett with the lemonade
And want the real love, don't have to keep a drake
Can't slide on the ops cause dawg we family now
No more sitting in because I'm standing out
Soar, I'm on the wings, I gotta air it out
Lord said "it is finished" what you fearing now?
And vengeance in the air, we gotta to clear it out
Revenge can cost too much and it can wear us out
Gotta chase your freedom, hate'll tear you down
Painting masterpieces at my parents house
No comparisons, we on our own roads
Used to share the sin, I'm on my own though
I got some regrets, I gotta let 'em go
Brand new motivations, gotta let 'em show
Steered some away, they on the wrong path
Just hope to see the day that GOD can bring 'em back
Just like my youngin, was zooted off the wax
Your cousins in the Ville, we had em drinking bad
And friendships that don't seem to go the distance
Good intentions, but my motives twisted
The world's hurting, we get too religious
Some just need a hand, cause I can't fix it
Thought I was the man, until I met the man
Thought I needed fame, I thought I needed bands
Thought I needed fans, I didn't understand
To find the source, you gotta cut the middle man
And shut the world off to get the revelation
Life is so much more than what we tend to make it
Once He show the path, you know you gotta take it
Stubborn as I am, I'm thanking GOD He gracious
Time after time, chance after chance
He doesn't want religion, He wants romance
Dip inside the presence, and we slow dance
Bow before The Greatest, lifting both hands
I wanna praise You without the rehearsal
I wanna worship deeper than a curfew
I want the real, live the real, and wanna serve you
Wanna live "well done my good and faithful servant
But I know that I'm the farthest thing away from perfect
In my own I'm double minded, wishy washy
But every time I fell I know your spirit caught me
And I'm holding on to every lesson that He taught me

But God is stirring a helpless hunger for the marvelous again. When I went to the Asbury revival, the thing that struck me the most was the hunger. The hunger for God himself, the hunger for the glorious God who had been buried under production and scandal by the church that bore his name. It turns out that God himself is enough, and maybe this generation is in the process of writing its dissertation on that.
