Once we stole on board a trading ship to see what we could find

The ship set sail with us on board which left us in a bind

We were shanghaied into the crew thought we begged to be set free

So I set about below deck to start a mutiny

I convinced most of the crewmen that their captain was unkind

But as I spoke to them I couldn't see what went on behind

I put our case to the captain who ordered our re-arrest by decree

So we went to war with the top brass and the few who didn't agree

With two of my old gang who backed me against the mainbrace

They threw me off the ship the next time that they reached port
