Lyrics
This is a poem I wrote for you named "House" and I hope you like it
"As I walk the concrete has no give under my beaten boots
The endless lines of winding roads call to me in more ways than I know
The wind guides my feet and it lifts me, more than my mind
I am in gods hands at the moment and for once I choose not to care
And through my journey, I find this house
That stands far out from the rest
I believe I'm on daisy lane
Or some suburb in some country town
The kind you hear about in old country songs
A sign on the fence "do not come in, I do not need you"
I ignore the sign that others have chosen to follow
And put these beaten boots on the slightly singed grass of your front yard
It has more give, and I can tell it's been walked
I will walk up to your door and knock
and As it opens, I will hug the heart
Or maybe it won't and I'll sit on the porch, coffee in hand,
until you want to come out"
Thank you
