Dear Heavenly Father, help us enter the new year quietly

thoughtful of who we are to ourselves and to others.

Mindful that our steps make an impact and our words carry power.

As the dawn breaks on the new year, let us give thanks for all we hold dear.

Our health, our family, our friends.

Let us release our grudges, our angers, and our pain for these are nothing but binding chains.

Let us live each day in the most loving ways

Let us serve all who are in need, regardless of race, color, or creed.

Let us lead the world from darkness to light, from falsehood to truth, and from wrong to right.

I pray for healing strength, and transformation for all those under the sound of my voice

Walk beside us, O Holy One, as we question and welcome, as we challenge and invite

and as we discover and understand the year 2024.

May you walk by our sides every single day of this year.

May you heal our hearts from whatever traumas may occur this year, Lord

Father God, I'm asking you for strength for myself, as I had two relatives pass away in January

My Aunt Cheryl and my Great Uncle Ike.

I ask you to heal everybody's hearts that was impacted by their passing's.

Help us understand, Lord. Deliver us from evil, protect us from sin and shower us with grace.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
