Why do the nations rage

What they imagine is vain

The kings of the earth, they're taking this stance, that's something I can't understand

They're taking their counsel against them, I swear they gon' be disappointed

Taking their stance against Yahweh, and standing against his anointing

You don't want to be his opponent, they feel like his chains are up on them

They'd like to shake them up off us, they don't care what it'll cost them

He ain't the King of kings for nothing, he's the Lord of all of them

And he who sits in the heavens, he laughs and he mocks them

In terrible fury he's saying that he will install his king

Right on top of his holy mountain, Mount Zion is where he'll be

I will surely tell of Yahweh, I will tell of his decree

He said you are my son, and today I begotten thee

Ask of me, and I will surely give you the nations as your inheritance

You're sitting down in my right hand, and the ends of the earth you will possess

You will break them with a rod of iron, you will shatter them like a potter's vessel

World rulers show insight, governors who sit in judgment

Serve him with reverence, and rejoice with trembling

Obey the son lest he get angry, and along the way you just perish

The way is looking these days, his wrath may be soon kindled

How blessed are all of them who in him take refuge
