Lyrics
Once in the hot grown summer glow, a quiet river flowed
Splashing along there smooth and slow, and cold as melted snow
It cut through the green, blue, and serene, and rolled up on the shore
Picked up some sticks and fallen leaves as it grew up and explored
But soon what was once so smooth and slow, became a mighty flow
And with the sparkle, blue and gold was growing more and more
And deep within it all, from fall to spring, and spring to fall
Was that cold and quiet flow, from the start that never goes
And always flows
Through it all,
While it grows, it's still small
Well the weather got hot and brought a lot of people to the stream
Who smiled and splashed and left their trash on the shore of the river's dreams
So it started to carve down to the ground, and built some heavy walls
And cried without making any sound, just misty waterfalls
And still within it all, from fall to spring, and spring to fall
was that cold and quiet flow, from the start that never goes
And always flows
Through it all,
While it grows, it's still small
Well after it fell, that river still went flooding on and on
Rushing along the forest hills and singing its own song
But the forest green soon left the scene and opened up the view
Sparkling new, the little stream looked up to endless blue
And with a sudden swell, it lost its wake
And opened up into great heavens waves
And deep within it all,
In the ocean's twisting crawl
was the same old quiet cold flow that was so, so small,
But always flowed
Always small,
Through the falls
Through it all
