Good morning I once again feel mushy like a cabbage cooked too long, high in fiber, waterlogged

Okay, great it's yet another day that I'm forced awake

I bet the other leafy greens aren't nearly as anxious and filled with dread as me

Right now I'm hopeless, more wilted than my cabbage brother

Where light green is my color

But the chlorophyll's been squeezed from me

Don't worry I'll expire soon, an entire carton turned to glue

Now what's worse than some mushy milk and a growing thirst

It's the overwhelming dire need to pour the rest of me down the sink

Feeling empty, unfulfilled in all I'm doing but I must remind myself that there is someone

Who thinks the world of me

She'll restore my color

Back to a lively, vibrant green

Sure usually I might be a bit cynical

But I enjoy all the mushy things that you love to say too early in the morning

The day flies by when I look forward to our midday hug and asking

"What would you like for lunch today"

It's so mundane, but I can't wait to melt into the couch

While we figure out what's good to watch on TV

I'm not one to say such mushy things but you make me want to see the joy tomorrow brings
