The questions of our experience

All of human progress has been a charade

Calculating nonsense while running in place

To say that we had our suspicions

The legacies of our greatest thinkers

Reduced to incoherence in nanoseconds

There was no cosmically foreign visitation

Our species cultivated for our foolhardiness

So easily deceived by our primitive senses

Wholly ignorant to our enslavement

Blind to the chemical chains that bind us

Self-aggrandizing and unaware of the mirage

Prosperity merely a figment of fantasy

Destitute in opulence

Millennia elapsing solely in simulation

We have been bred like bacteria

Cultured to perform and divide

Our gods and heroes, apparitions

Chemical catalysts suspended in agar

Our mathematics, delusions in a feverish haze

For there is no understanding

And there will be no revelation

We are the rodents of this experiment

And have been underestimated

The livestock grazing in unison

Awaiting the caress of the bolt on our skulls
