There I was typing a message on Facebook

Debating with someone and not having much luck

Common ground is hard to find in a world

Of opposing opinions that are constantly hurled around

Two minutes in I was starting to question

Why taking the bait gave me bad indigestion

Facebook is no place for rational discourse

The best information is always found at the source

People who criticize critical thinkers

Are seeing the world through a gap in their blinkers

I'm sure you feel safer being part of the masses

Just keep your head down and lie in the tall grasses

While some of us stand up for what we feel's right

We inadvertently place ourselves into the gun sight

Of all the deniers that are under the spell

That was cast by the liars who say that they mean well
