Lyrics
We've all been through different journeys and adventures
That got us to where we are now
And these Stories are still ongoing
Let me talk to you
We all come from various countries, states, and different cities
Some places pretty, some filthy, others blowing up quickly
You grew up rich and your parents handed you all of it
Enjoyed the nice things in life along with benefits
Or you grew up poor, slept on the floor
Made something from nothing
Now you wake up everyday like an unstoppable force
But we can't help it, you can only play the cards you're dealt
And make decisions on the way, with or without help
Everybody got a story, baby
And some thing they've been going through lately
And some days you may think I'm crazy
But everybody got a story, baby
Why I act the way I do? I think I got a clue
Got thirty years worth of material I can show you
Constantly rise and falling
We all have our own problems
Some people try to solve them and others don't need to be involved with them
I grew up with my mom
She bumping music and singing Sade, Brandy, and dancing to Michael J
So it makes total sense why I act in certain ways
Catch me humming a tune and rocking my hips everyday
Born in Stone Mountain, grew up in Snellville, still say Atlanta
Parents split at the age of eight which gave me two Santas
And both were balling in middle class
Which had me satisfied, most of the time but their discipline kept me in line
Then the recession hit in the two thousand eight
My momma on the grind, hunting for jobs every other night crying
Waiting for my brother to call in the evening around nine
Who still had five more years in the pen, serving his time
Everybody got a story, baby
And some thing they've been going through lately
And some days you may think I'm crazy
But everybody got a story, baby
My daddy, on the other hand was struggling
Certainly didn't envision penny pinching from his pension
Two sisters that made it cause that hard work and sweat paid it
So I don't have any other choice but to strive for greatness
Kicked soccer balls in college cause of a scholarship
And landed in the pros, don't say it much but I'm proud of it
Got cut from the team a week later which made me feel sick
A twenty year dream crushed in a matter of minutes
But I had to move on, put my foot on the gas
Like my dad would say, what's done is done, you can't dwell in the past
Picked up two part times that led me to full time cash
I still wasn't satisfied after doing the math
Then moved to Miami, got a job that paid for performance
That money started rising and it's level of importance
Forgot to mention I've been messing with music for years
But enough of me, it's your story I'm ready to hear
Everybody got a story, baby
And some thing they've been going through lately
And some days you may think I'm crazy
But everybody got a story, baby
