Last night was season's first snow, and it took me by surprise

My car's windows were open, I left my firewood outside

I was gonna go hiking, guess I'll go to the bar

But my living room is cold now, so I work on the fire

And it's when I'm at my weakest, that the fire starts to burn

My room is so much brighter, I guess I won't ever have to go to bed cold

I put more socks on, cause I'm out of supplies

And everything gets darker as the fire slowly dies

And all I have is embers, they're warm if you're up close

But if I shift them around any longer they'll leave just like everybody else

And it's when I'm at my weakest The fire starts to burn out

And my room is so much brighter I guess I won't ever have to bed cold
