It was September 27th, born in the 90's

Mama staring out the window, wondering what would I be

I know it's hard to seem

She ain't no Martin Luther King

But she had a dream

She had, dreams of her kids being over-comers

Knowing that the storms would come, hear the roll of thunder

Sought to train us up in the way of the Lord

Doing things to make us happy, what she could afford

I always saw her do the best, the best with what she had

Looked at her strong, but know some days that she was sad

But it wouldn't last, cause she put her faith in God

Well that explains why I smile when up against the odds

You deserve an applause, give ya flowers while ya here

Cause ain't no way I'd be the man of God without you near

You helped me face my fears, even as a grown man

Told me I had to choose God's or my own plans

Well that's a bold stance that pushed me in the right direction

Cause see at times I'd hold back, due to my imperfections

And for a split second, almost threw in the towel

Now as you look upon my life, I hope I make you proud

I wasn't thinking about the Lord, only the things that shine

But then I pressed rewind, saw the way my life was headed

And then I heard your voice, you said it, that I would regret it

I thank God for your presence, even through the hurt and pain

And I will always pray the Lord removes the guilt and shame

Cause you are not the blame, look at me, He made a promise

Ain't no denying that I'm yours, they say I got it honest

Now our life is abundant, cause we live our lives for Jesus

You told me, give Him what I had, my life was all in pieces

I'm just writing a Thesis, to explain how I am grateful

Because of all the prayers you prayed, I know my God is faithful

Put it all on the table, ain't no way I'm holding back

This is a way to tell you thank you so I wrote this track

This is more than a track, more like something monumental

All the things that we've been through, it was just a point of reference

Cause God revealed to me those things in your imagination

All of the things that was spoken about to me

Enemy thought you were birthing a casualty

But God told us His plans and we just believed
