Lyrics
The wolf moon throws its silver light on my duvet
I lie unsleeping in the milky glow
The night is cold I sense the bite of winter
Jack Frost begins to weave his mosaic throw
Sleep persists to claim me in the stillness
Too much endeavour for a weary mind
Eventually my eyes give way to blackness
And through the solace of my dreams I wind
The grey streets bend to the rainbows end
Where the green fields greet me like a long lost friend
I reminisce I can resist
It helps me circumvent life's great abyss
Dull pavement takes me past the rows of houses
Then along the jitty to the cemetery
I meander slowly through the crooked headstones
Up to the chapel and its sanctuary
I stare across the valley from boot hill
The stand at Crich attracts my searching eyes
And briefly I surrender to reflection
And float subconscious in the mackerel skies
The grey streets bend to the rainbows end
Where the green fields greet me like a long lost friend
I reminisce I can resist
It helps me circumvent life's great abyss
