Lyrics
Remember when a boy of ten I had a little grown-up bike
It wouldn't take me far away but just as far as I could hike
Remember girl with golden hair that I would often walk from school
And I would sit her on my bike in front of me it was so cool
And I would pedal very hard the trees and homes are flying by
And I would bring her safely home and till tomorrow say Good Bye
A wind would blow in my face
I grip the handles leaning low
It was so wonderful and chaste
That this was love I didn't know
My childhood was coming to an end
No pleasure from playing with old toys
And music was entering my head
Guitar wasn't leaving me a choice
As I grew-up, another bike my parents bought to be my horse
I cared so much for my mustang and very good to me it was
We traveled far away from home to where a stream ran through the park
And where half-naked I would roam
On summer days in semi-dark
There was no girl as yet to spend with
The precious moments of my youth
But only one of my old friends was
Who ran with me and shared my blues
We were wild with our bikes
We jumped and skidded braking hard
There was no greater joy for us
Than those bike rides through the park
I wanted those days to never end
But Someone is always keeping score
The music was loud in my head
Adulthood was knocking on the door
