Biography
David Tokuma Dekor, better known as "PAWZZ," is a Nigerian singer and rapper who was born on December 14, 2002 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, but hails from Benue State. He was born into a Christian family in Port Harcourt and grew up singing and rapping in high school. He has 1 brother and 1 sister and is the middle child. As a teenager, his mother encouraged him to pursue his talent after realizing her son had a knack for music and loved playing the drums. While in school, he performed in the Coca-Cola Student Regionals Competition to much acclaim. In 2019, Pawzz decided to chase music full time while still completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication.
Pawzz aims to use his uniqueness to engage and influence the next generation of youths as a standout brand. According to Pawzz, “normalcy” is a crime that should not be tolerated because it does not foster growth, development, or any kind of advancement for individuals, communities, or nations.
Career
Pawzz describes his music as Afro-fusion, a fusion of Afrobeats, POP, and Rock. His musical intuition ushers in the next phase of Afrobeats evolution. He grasps his reality as a poetic being and translates it into resounding melodies with an excellent pen game, while fusing Afrobeats, Pop, and Rock Music and adding a touch of diversity and uniqueness to his sound. His music is an expression of his inner self, containing raw, unfiltered thoughts and emotions. His music's spiritual essence evokes a sense of inclusiveness in people of all backgrounds.
He is currently working on an upcoming EP, “PREZZ PLAY” to be released in the first quarter of 2023. Since 2021, Pawzz has been committed to developing himself as an artist, consistently honing his skills under Kulture Music, his management team and Freeme Music, his record label. He is ready and set for his debut in the Afrobeats space.
