High Soundsystem

High Soundsystem is a dj collective which contains two brothers Rutger & Wessel Heij based in Rotterdam, Netherlands .The brothers grew-up in a loving place surrounded by world music all the time and even though there were struggles, they were always very loved by their parents. Both brothers started practicing music at a very young age. Wessel inuenced by Hip-Hop. Rutger inuenced Hip-Hop, Trance & Latin. They developed their musical journey apart from each other, but both found love for House music. Mainly because of their uncle dj Darik (Erik Damwijk). Who had shown them the example. Being both active as a dj separately for some years, they combined forces after playing together at a party in Rotterdam. A friend of them said as a joke, “give it up for High Soundsystem”. But the guys liked the name so much, that the joke became reality. After this, it all went quite fast for the brothers. Their first big gig was when they opened for Benny Rodrigues at Give Soul, in Maassilo Rotterdam. The energy they bring to the booth is contagious and gets the crowd hyped up from the rst minute they start playing. With their distinctive taste for quality house music, their sets are always full of surprises and will never bore you. Inuenced by : The Martinez Brothers, Benny Rodrigues, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Sidney Charles, Dj Sneak, Prodot, Seb Zito & Phil Wheeks . They are founders of Obvious Collective. Obvious Records, Disco Merasa and part of the Give Soul Collective.
