Forming in the summer of 1998, More consisted of five musicians all based in the New York City area. After performing in various venues across the city, the group's classic rock influences began to create a buzz among fans and critics alike. The band's excellent live show caught the attention of Toronto's North By Northeast Festival, who invited More to perform at its showcase three consecutive years. In 2002, More released its debut album Someone Like No One on NYC More Music. The group have also shared the stage with Josh Joplin, Sponge and White Light Motorcade among others.
