Fizzing Funksters, is the moniker of the Melbourne-based electronica / techno / acid producer Peppe Fizz. Inspired in part by, the forefathers of electronic music, such as Stockhausen, Kraftwerk, Moroder and Jeff Mills, and the music technology of the 70s and 80s, Peppe treads his own oscillating path, twisting the virtues of machines and synthesis, to produce sizzling soundscapes and a signature sound like no other.
Dabbling and experimenting with electronic music, began as early as the 90s for Peppe, when he traded his piano for an Ensoniq EPS. It wasn’t long before a computer was added into the equation: an ATARI 1040ste with a 30MB hard-drive. But the instrument that changed it all for the Fizzing Funksters was the iconic TB-303, it became a signature ingredient, and can be heard often across his works, both as a squelchy bass synthesizer and a sequencer for his other Fizzing synths...more
