Iphis Well

Iphis Well was born in France in a family of classical musicians who initiated her very early on to the sense of melody.
From adolescence, she experienced a particularly painful journey littered with personal tragedies.
Realizing that music can be her escape, she began to write her lyrics and to compose her own melodies. She has also been learning the basics of production on Ableton.
In her compositions, Iphis likes to mix pop and electronic music, together with bass from House music. Her music is meant to be dancing, and her lyrics tackle dark subjects, but tinged with hope.
She chose as a pseudonym the name of a variety of butterflies, the Iphis, symbol of freedom, but also of renewal.
For the arrangement of her first EP, she was assisted by DJ Heren, already known for having been a member of the Yall group who composed "Hundred Miles" in 2015.
Victim of post-traumatic stress disorder, Iphis’s nights have for many years been interspersed with terrible nightmares that awakened her brutally.
After a particularly hectic night, she woke up with the first two words of the song and a melody in mind. This is how "Nightmares" was born, which she wrote straight down. Through this song, Iphis evokes the ghosts of the past that haunt her, but also wants to show that we can recover from everything.
