London born, Liverpool based artist AYA is an artist whose music delves between the worlds of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Folk.
Watching two of his older brothers play the guitar and keyboard influenced AYA to learn to play the guitar and learn to sing. Starting with hip-hop and rap as a youngster, poetry and engaging sounds come to the fore with his lyricism and vocal range.
Using R&B tones with middle eastern effects has allowed him to create a signature sound he calls "Anthemic R&B Folk Pop" - from starting his career just over 3 years ago to now playing sold-out shows at the 02 Academy, doing support slots with Xander and The Peace Pirates, Conleth McGeary, festivals from Sound City to others all across the nation. His first two singles receiving local and national BBC Introducing air time.
AYA is currently recording over a dozen songs, using all his influences from Sam Cooke, to Tupac, Nas, to Ben Howard, Mark Knopfler, and Sara Bareilles - he is planning a strong year of releases in 2020 with his first single of 2020 "Gaslight" already coming out on the 18th of March.
