Hailing from Nairobi Kenya, Immaculate Juma alias ‘Ima’ is a sassy mix of musical influences
including afropop and rnb which have heavily influenced her music. Growing up, her influences
included The Spice Girls, Boys 11 Men, 112, Destiny’s Child, Kleptomaniacs, Nameless & Brenda
Fasi. More recently she’s begun looking up to African powerhouses like Sauti Sol, Angelique Kidjo,
Tiwa Savage, AKA, MDQ, Blinky Bill, Nasty C, Simi & South Africa’s Freshly Ground.
All her influences have one thing in common – they create music that makes you want to move,

Having started out her music career as part of a band called MICE, Ima went solo this year 2020
when she released her first ever single ‘Grown’.
