After releasing two debut solo singles in 2019, singer, songwriter and actress Parisa returns with a new project, Working From Home - a collection of 29 songs written and recorded on her bedroom floor in February 2020.
Working From Home initially began, not as a project, but as an exercise in creativity. Setting herself the challenge of creating an original song every day for 29 days, Parisa unlocked a flow in herself never experienced before. Freeing herself from constraints in terms of style, subject matter and arrangement, she allowed moods and thoughts, both personal and collective, to inspire each song. The result is something honest, intimate and lyrically universal.
“I’m doing my best to make my mark with this raw and honest start” says Parisa in the project’s opening song, Listen.
Lilting pianos lines and rolling guitar patterns accompany Parisa’s cleverly crafted lyrical flow in a raw and stripped back fashion, bringing her melodic prowess to the fore. The nature of this accompaniment makes space for Parisa to use her voice somewhat as an instrument - her vocal harmony adding depth, character and emotion.
Influenced by iconic songwriters both classic and contemporary like Sia, Carole King, Linda Perry & Tayla Parx, Parisa hopes to establish herself as a versatile collaborator as well as a recording artist in her own right....more
