Ispanak is an Istanbul-based rock band started in 2007 as a project by Can Yıldızlı (guitars & vocal) and Emre Tandar (guitars & effects). Original lineup had been formed in 2008 after their former high school/college band co-members Ali Diker (bass guitars) and Onur Dursun (keyboards, effects & vocal) with the addition of Tayfun Gür (drums) joined the band. While they were working on the new compositions, they started to perform live shows in some of İstanbul's underground stages such as Peyote and Dogzstar regularly.
In 2009, Onur Dursun left the band and Aydın Aysu (keyboards) joined the group. The same year, Ispanak had released their EP, which was recorded by Barkın Engin (Replikas & Reverie Falls on All) and Metin Bozkurt (Replikas).
Latest line up has been formed after Aydın Aysu left and Onur Olgun (Saxophone & Keyboards) joined the band in 2010. The group has recorded couple of songs during that time but only a track titled Yeni Yıl was released.
Ispanak is currently inactive since 2012.
In September 2018, Ispanak released a live bootleg called Orta Kat that consists songs from 2009 and 2011 Peyote live shows....more
