The Boogietoones

The Boogietoones are an American band playing in rock, blues and Americana styles. The band began in Kansas in the mid 1970's as “Escalante”, by playing classic rock covers of the era. Their name changed to “Hero” two years later and by the early 80’s they were touring from eastern Kansas and into Colorado. Multi-track recording and original song writing became their primary focus, and the name of the band changed again to The Boogietoones around 1982. The group released the albums “2083” and "Secret Messages", followed up by the double album “New Tricks” in the '80's.

The 90’s brought a transition to the band as members moved apart and were separated by long distances. Most were scattered across Kansas with one member moving to the Houston, Texas area.

The 90's also saw the creation and release of "33 1/3", "Homecoming", and "Gladstone". The period from 2000 - 2010 marked a bit of a hiatus for the band, with only occasional live performances.

Releases after 2010 include the acclaimed "Makin' Tracks", "After The Flood", and "The Olympic".

Today, The Boogietoones are still releasing new albums created by long distance collaboration, including the 2021 release "Rotator". Their music ranges from their classic rock roots, to heavy folk, to Americana, progressive space rock, progressive jazz, and all seasoned up with a special blend of Texas blues spice and Midwestern prairie rock.
