P-Unit

P-Unit is a Kenyan Hip Hop trio from Nairobi Kenya which is composed of the rappers professionally known as Frasha, Gabu, and Bon-eye. Many of P-Unit’s songs become very popular and trendy online with a great number of streaming and downloads on Boomplay.

The trio was formed in 2006 and signed to renowned producer Musyoka’s Deciaml Records the same year. The group was very popular in East Africa going on to release several hit songs and winning multiple awards before going on hiatus in 2015 to focus on solo endeavors.

MUSIC CAREER
The trio released their debut album Wagenge Hao in 2010 propelling them further into the mainstream and spawning the smash hit ‘Kare’ Wagenge Hao had 17 tracks, with features from DNA and Nonini.

In 2011 they released the song "Gentleman" with Sauti Sol, produced by R-Kay, which was a colossal hit in Kenya dominating the airwaves.
They followed up Gentleman with their most successful single to date titled "You guy (Dat Dendai)", produced by Decimal's "Erik Musyoka" and featuring Collo. The music video to You Guy, considered controversial at that time, was a cultural phenomenon propelling the career of one of the vixens in the video known as Vera Sidika who ever since has become one of the most popular socialites in Africa.

Their 2014 single "Weka Weka" introduced a new concept of music distribution by fans paying KES. 20 to download and listen to the song before the mainstream release.
