In my midnight day

I don't really feel like sunshine I don't really feel like rain

I don't really feel like much cause like much it's all the same

I've been home bound still turned around still shooting for my star

So many midnight days abandoned ways I'm convinced it's not so hard

There's been a lack retreat that I rush to meet red balloons can go so far

Some other way in my midnight day as I wish upon this star

There's been walls of brick twice as thick they hold the answers to my life

Like the red blood stain in a liquid drain obtained with a butter knife

I left the mold and dust in a pile of rust cracked a picture with a glare

Still, you look at it every chance you get with that hungry aching stare
