Ellie got under my skin

With her strawberry hair flowing in the wind

She gave me a flannel jacket to wear

When the world's just too cold to bear

But she gave everything, drained out all that's inside

And she cried on the floor feeling empty

Stayed in the shadows and she'd tear her own skin

And she won't let me know where she's been

I stare at the flicker of the candle burning slowly in the dark

With a smile on your face that I barely recognize
