Three hours later and you were gone

I was the first kid to know or maybe just the first to shout

I still feel bad for yelling at mom like it was her fault

But I was a kid and kids don't understand those things at all

For years and years, I jumped at every phone call

Thinking maybe it was the hospital

Saying they made a mistake

I think a part of me will forever be ten years old
