Snowflakes falling from the sky, your lips are chapped and way too dry

As you wave goodbye and head outside, leaving me alone with the coming storm

And I have always hated the cold, can't stop shivering down to my bones

But with you, I have always felt so warm; however, without you, I now know

The winter's creeping, getting near; the coldest season one can fear

Being outside makes my pulse feel weak

But I turned to you from beside me, believing you'd stay close and hold me

I shouldn't have assumed that you felt the same

I never thought you would leave me in the cold of winter
