Brother

I'm sitting in the silence, and watching the break of dawn

Letting out the old dog, Gary slowly starts to yawn

The shallows on the wire they are truly well-prepared

To accompany my brother, their journey will be shared

I spot the oak, the great one, on the upside of the hill

We used to compete in climbing higher, mother's biggest thrill

I always ended up losing but I really didn't mind

The land, the lake, the spring, the hills were everybody's prize

The garden was our fighting pit, our old bones used to crunch

Sometimes there was a bit too much power behind the punch
