I was young and dumb, out here catching cases

I should've been in the booth, but I was embracing the pavement

Forgetting where the days went, nights when I was drinking

And started fighting, when I should've been writing

Playing on the edge, delighted in the fact that I had some street cred

I'm from a time where we respect violence

And reward silence, and support the talent

The streets were balanced, we just stayed prepared

For anything that happened, it was either playing ball or you were making it trapping

Cause everybody wanted that, even the cats that was rapping
