Better person

How can I be a better person? The question rings inside my head

Instead I hold on to words they say, echoes swirling, filling me with dread

Do you know how long it's been since I talked nice to myself

Sometimes it don't feel right, like a book left on a shelf

Maybe I stopped believing long ago, lost faith in who I am inside

I hate to say this but I need to let it go, move on from what's holding me down, I gotta decide

Sometimes I know it's just a matter of time, until it all falls down, clashes to the ground

I hope you're there, now you care, but I'm falling apart a little more each day

Maybe I shouldn't get out of bed today, everything's hard in every single way

Don't always look in the dark, that's where you find the shadows of my heart
