I was raised in the grind where the struggle don't sleep

Counting pennies in my pocket just to make ends meet

Dreams faded like the paint on my busted old ride

A heart full of hunger but my pride kept me alive

They said "Keep hustlin' kid you'll make it one day"

But the clock kept tickin' while the bills wouldn't wait

My soul felt heavy weighed down by the fight

Then I learned there's more to wealth than dollars overnight
